As long as they always work, don’t crash, and sound good, I’m happy. I use a control surface so I don’t really care about the GUI and how it looks. Are the alternatives better? It’s a matter of opinion. Well looky here SSL decided to drop the extra hardware and appeal to the. It’s a great bundle, but there are always alternatives. They usually run an annual sale for the bundle between $200 and $250 (USD), typically during Black Friday, and if you have any of their plugins already, the price is reduced even further. Decapitator, Radiator, Echo Boy…just to name a few, are really well thought out, easy to use, and I’ve been using them for many many years with zero issues. I personally love the SoundToys 5 bundle and I would recommend it to anyone looking to expand their plug-in options. Have they been around a while? Have they supplied regular expected updates as required? Nothing worse than buying a plug-in only to realize in a year that it will not be updated or becomes abandon-ware. One thing to consider when purchasing, and looking at price, is to also look at the history of the company.
